Applying to the RCM Velan Award
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Rotary Club of Montreal is pleased to announce that it is accepting applications for its prestigious Velan Award for 2017.
Established in 1981, this Award is presented, with rare exceptions, annually to a Canadian who is actively involved in a Canadian charity performing distinctive and outstanding humanitarian work overseas.
The Award carries with it a monetary honorarium that is made to the charity represented by the awardee. Over the years, the Velan Award has recognized the humanitarian work of such exceptional individuals as Cardinal Léger, Dr. Chris Giannou, Jean Coutu, Paul Gérin-Lajoie, Naomi Bronstein, Dr. Makeda Semret, André Franche, Frère Romain Légaré and Angèle Gingras.

Please note that nominations must include a completed submission form (see attached), and should be sent to the address below, attention Velan Award Committee. They must be postmarked no later than July 31st, 2017.

Le Club Rotary de Montréal est heureux de vous annoncer qu’il reçoit actuellement des candidatures pour son prestigieux prix de la Fondation Velan pour l’année 2017.
Créé en 1981, ce prix est décerné annuellement, sauf à de rares exceptions, à un(e) canadien(ne) qui est impliqué(e) activement dans une œuvre caritative canadienne réalisant un travail humanitaire distinctif et remarquable à l’étranger.
Le prix s’accompagne d’une bourse remise à l’œuvre représentée par le (la) récipiendaire. Au cours des ans, le prix de la Fondation Velan a reconnu l’œuvre humanitaire d’êtres exceptionnels tel que le Cardinal Léger, le Dr Chris Giannou, Jean Coutu, Paul Gérin-Lajoie, Naomi Bronstein, la Dre Makeda Semret, André Franche, Frère Romain Légaré et Angèle Gingras.
Veuillez prendre note que les mises en candidatures doivent inclure le formulaire de demande (ci-joint) complété et être postées à l’adresse ci-dessous, à l’attention du Comité du prix de la Fondation Velan. Les envois doivent être timbrés, au plus tard, en date du 31 juillet 2017.
